I'll Give You The Sun - Review with SPOILERS

I'll Give You The Sun - Jandy Nelson Beautiful. Stunning. Amazing. Wow I cannot believe how much I loved this book! Jandy writes this story from the perspective of twins, she writes the brother's, Noah's, perspective when he is 13-14 and the sister's, Jude's, perspective when she is 16. They grow apart in both perspectives but then come back together in Jude's last chapter. All of Jude's chapters are called 'The History of Luck' and Noah's are called 'The Invisible Museum'. These titles almost explain how each character is feeling at these points in their life. Noah makes art in his head after not being accepted at an art school and Jude believes she needs to have all of these good luck charms from her grandma's bible to survive. In Noah's perspective, he draws beautiful art and is in love with a boy called Brian. This love story goes from suppressed emotions to forced sexuality to admitting they liked each other. In Jude...

The Morganville Vampires - Rachel Caine *Spoiler Free*

The Morganville Vampires is a 15 book series written by the lovely Rachel Caine.  I recently read all 15 books, and the short stories included in the back of these editions, in just under 4 weeks. They were so addictive and I couldn't put any of the books down! I won't ruin the plot of any of these books because believe me some of the events will have you leaning forwards into the book with a hand over your wide open mouth!  Throughout the series, we follow a girl called Claire who has just started College in Morganville, Texas. She ends up living in the 'Glass House' which no, it isn't a house of glass as I immediately thought. It is called the 'Glass House' because it is owned by Michael Glass. This is where Claire learns that Morganville is run by vampires. Yeah. Not your average American College experience. This is all I can tell you about the premise without ruining anything fo you so I will leave this here and go onto the characters.  ...

Alexandra Bracken's 2017 release!

Image
You can look at the full details on Alexandra Bracken's website  here From what I understand this will be the first instalment in a new middle-grade series. It is about the main character, Prosper, who learns that he has a demon living inside him due to his great-great-great-great-great-something grandfather making and breaking a contract with a demon. This demon has now reawakened and its sole purpose is to destroy the family who betrayed him - Prosper's family. Now Prosper has days to banish the demon back to its own realm, however, it's not easy when the demon lives inside him and trying to trick Prosper into a contract. 'Yeah, Prosper will take his exorcism without a side of eternal servitude, thanks.' I personally think this sounds like a really interesting concept and with Bracken's writing I know it will be amazing. The release date for this title is September 5th 2017 and is currently available to pre-order on  Barnes & Noble ,  iBooks , ...

New Releases for 2017!

Image
These are only a few of the amazing releases for 2017. Most of the descriptions are from goodreads and I don’t claim any credit for these. I used these definitions for books that I haven't read the earlier books too and don't know much about the story.  Wayfarer (passenger 2) - Alexandra Bracken - 12th January This is a sequel to Alexandra Bracken's Passenger. To my knowledge this is a duology so, sadly, this will be the last installment. This is an amazing duology about time travel and mystery in which Etta has to travel across the world in different time periods in order to track down a mystical object that will save her mum.  You can buy this book  here The One Memory of Flora Banks - Emily Barr - 12th January HOW DO YOU KNOW WHO TO TRUST WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN TRUST YOURSELF? I look at my hands. One of them says FLORA BE BRAVE. Flora has anterograde amnesia. She can't remember anything day-to-day: the joke her friend made, the instructio...
